Installing the Lazy Backup plugin with Joomla
Installing this plugin is quite easy, thanks to Joomla! extension and plugin oriented architecture.
For experienced admins, it's simply a matter of installing the plugin, opening it's configuration page from the Plugin Manager, adding your email and publish it. Nothing more !
This installation guide is meant for users with little or no experience using Joomla.
Step 1 : log into your administrator control panel
You can usually access your Joomla's administrator control panel by browsing to www.yoursite.com/administrator/
Step 2 : Open the extension - Install/Uninstall page

From Joomla's menu « Extension > Install/Uninstall » as shown above. This should open this plugin installation page :
Step 3 - Choose and upload extension
Simply click the browse button to choose the Lazy Backup plugin installation package,
And hit the Upload & Install button. If everything goes well, you will get this default Joomla message for succesful plugin installation :
Congratulations, you are almost done !
Step 4 - The final step : configuring Lazy Backup
Final step involves entering the email address you want to receive your backups to, and activating the plugin. In order to do so, you need to go to your Joomla plugin manager and find the newly installed Lazy Backup plugin.
From the extensions menu, select Plugin Manager as shown below :
To quickly find the newly installed Lazy Backup plugin, you can use the filter feature of Joomla. Once you see it, click on LazyBackup 2. It will open it's configuration page, in which you will see the parameters on right side of the page :
The only parameter you need to fill in is the "To Email address:" in which you'll enter a valid email address, or multiple email recipients separated by commas. You can then enable the plugin in the details section to the left :
Once this is done, don't forget to click the save button ! ![]()
Check your emails - you should have received your very first automatic database backup. Please note the plugin will send you a backup every time you save/apply/close it's configuration page.
